Sound card?

Hello,
The volume on my hp 5260f Windows 7 starting cutting in and out.Ive used it with no problem for over ayear. Tried a system restore and all the fix it tools. Today it has no sound at all and the device manager says everything ok. Is it time for a new sound card?

integrated Iguess. I bought the computer from hp and did not add anything.

Have you tried using different speakers/headphones?

yes. still did not work. This morning after restart everything is back to normal. I don't know for how long.

Check your speaker wires. That they are all plugged in properly and fully. If the speaker has fly-leads, did they ever get yanked in the past? Say, from falling off a shelf/table.
