[citation][nom]halcyon[/nom]Why out another me-too phone? How about a super high ppi display, removable battery, SD card slot? Come on Acer, you could have been a contender.[/citation]

It's Acer. What do you expect?

A contender for what? The high-end smartphone market share is already locked up between Samsung, Apple, and to a lesser extent HTC. Mid-range, off contract phones with lower equipment costs are more likely to attract 'regular' buyers than a display with more pixels than your eye can resolve and a $200 higher price tag. There's more market share available in the mid-range where people are so tied up to current SGS3 and iP5 product upgrade cycles.

It sounds to me like you want more, just for the sake of having more.

I'm American. You can't just turn off hundreds of years of programming.

Seriously, I've never been one to appreciate the low-end but I guess that's where Acer is happy. They could at least strive for the upper mid-end.

We know that Asus makes awesome motherboards and laptops. The Nexus 7 I auditioned was flawless too. However, let's talk about their Transformers for a second. Last Spring I actually went through 5 or 6 (I can't remember) Transformer Primes trying to get one that didn't have 1 or 2 dead pixels. I never won that battle and just gave up. Then this past Fall I tried again with their Transformer Infinity...a tablet that should have just been great. High-resolution screen, great build materials, decent quad-core power. ...but the Dead Pixel Monster found me and I went through 3 trying to find one without dead pixels. Alas, perfection was not meant to be. ...gave up. I don't know whether or not it happens in shipping or if they leave Asus like that but its just not acceptable. Not to give a nod to Apple but I've had multiple iPads and NONE of them have ever had ANY flaws. The screens are as you'd expect...PERFECT. I'm going through the same thing with my current Dell XPS 15 but I'm just giving up and will have to live with the dead pixel. I've had multiple Mac Pros and they've all been as I'd expect...flawless, but I'm on my 3rd Dell XPS 15. At least it only has 1 dead pixel in the middle of its 1920x1080p screen.

Asus and Dell. Two of my favorites cheap'n out. I shudder to think Apple is the only one that can get this right. I guess it's just me.

Okay, sorry about the rant but I feel better now.

Must be the suppliers of that particular display, I have 3 24 inch ASUS monitors and not one problem with any of them.
