Anybody mess with the Superchips programmer? I bought one and am downloading the application right now to update it. Then I'm going to go set my truck to "economy".

Any thoughts, tips, or secrets to this thing? It sure wasn't cheap.

Chips work very well for Diesel. Gas burners, meh. I've not dealt with a superchips unit myself, but I have several friends who use similar products on their turbo diesels.

That's what I figured, I'm guessing I'll only notice a difference in calculated MPG. I don't expect to see any difference through the petal.

I had one for my old service truck, '05 dodge 2500. Worked pretty good for me. With a different exhaust, straight pipe with and industrial diesel muffler, I averaged around 21mpg. Only issue was the truck was a manual and the stock clutch lasted 100k. I replaced it with a 450hp rated clutch kit and all was good. Never tried with a gas engine but every performance orientated car I've owned has been carbed.

hi there.i read other post about superchips and i see that people are talking about them but no one really says which is better so i'm asking which among these 3 the Superchips 2825 FlashPaq Tuner, Diablosport U7191 Predator Computer Programmer Tuner, and the Superchips 2950 Cortex Performance Programmer which is the best. I know the hp tuner is better than all but u have to have some1 tune it for u and it doesn't have a preprogrammed tune 4 average people like me.thanks

I have HPTuners, for my Traliblazer SS, and after seeing what you can do with it vs. the handhelds, I'm glad.

You can get a mail-order tune, which isn't necessarily that different from a handheld, except now you can take some logs and have it fine-tuned via emailing files, or play with it yourself.

Plus, it's a good learning tool, if you're into that.

BTW, I picked up about 25 hp and 10% fuel economy, plus it's much nicer to drive (trans tuning helps a lot in this area....less timing being pulled as it shifts).
