Some people are unaware that you can print on CDs using the Canon Pixma
printers, this includes the ip3000/4000/5000/6000/8500 and
mp750/760/780. This feature while disabled in The Americas can easily
be enabled. All that is needed is.

1. Service mode access - well documented
2. Tray
a. Ordered from partsnow.com (when in stock), e-bay or a number
of dealers
b. Hacked from an epson r200/300 series tray
c. Made from posterboard, plastic, old dvd cases, whatever
3. Software
a. Canon's CD-labelprint
b. 3rd party software including surething with 3rd party template
or Discus.

All information on the subject was gathered using a long discussion on
Steve's Fourms and has since been organized in three faqs.

Those who already own these canon models or those interested in a new
printer have another choice to consider.
