I recently posted a thread a while back about how much harder it was to overclock my M2N32-SLI Deluxe board w/4600+ X2 than my brother's A8N32-SLI Deluxe w/4000+. You guys were very helpful, although it didn't improve my speeds as much as I just have. I found a lot of good info pertaining to the board from here, so I thought I would share it with everyone else. This is a link to nVidia's nForce 590 overclocking guide. It helped me out a TON.

Here's basically what I had to deal with and what I did to overcome it.
RAM was unstable. I thought I had gotten crap from Corsair but it turns out there wer some settings on default that screwed it all up. By changing the CS/OTD, Add/CMD, and MEMCLK values in the DRAM Output driver section to 1.25x, 1.25x, and .75x respectively, I was able to boost this RAM to a little over 920MHz from 800 (5-5-5-15-2T). I got my FSB up to 231 and my CPU is running at 2772MHz with a 12x multiplier. Also, take note of the guide's suggestion to change CPU<->NB HT speed to 3x from ASUS's Auto (5x). That seems to be important. Thanks to someone (can't remember username, sorry) for pointing that out to me in my earlier thread.

Other settings are Vram 1.95, Vcore 1.4850 in BIOS (reporting 1.5V in PC Probe, AI Booster). I also set my PCI-E bus speeds to 1 - 136 (x25=3400MHz) MHz and 2 - 116 (x25=2900MHz).

For those of you with the now impossible to find eVGA 7900GT KO 512 card, I got the frequencies to 618 core clock and 755 mem clock, but this yielded a few green frames on 3dmark06, is that a sign of fatigue? Anyway, I just run them a little lower now. I tuned the GPU for 20 minutes using nTune utility, I'd recommend this as long as you don't tune all options. It ran some RAM timings that ended up corrupting some Windows files and it crashed a ton on the 3-hour tune, making me have to reinstall Windows due to a lot of system errors.

Using these settings, I was able to boost my 3dmark06 score from a low 5200 stock to mid 5800's now. My highest CPU score was 2073 I think, I'll have to check. Anyone do better on a 4600+ AM2?

I just thought I'd post this to maybe clear up some questions regarding overclocking these boards, cause I know there are some of you that have problems. If I had this thread when I started overclocking it would have been much more fun. :)

If anyone has any other suggestions to improve my scores let me know, and a special thanks to the few that helped me out originally, you inspired me. I'll try to post the link to my best score. It says it's unconfirmed, I think either because I'm using nVidia's new 91.47(?) drivers or the fact that I used nTune to net the result. Hope this helps someone as it took forever to type up. I'm going to bed.

Here's the link to my best test so far.

It says FSB is 200 but it really isn't since it was softclocked. There were some other settings changed, but I believe FSB was really at 218 at this time. That's why my CPU score is so low. Good night, folks.
