I'm trying to replace a video card with a new one... I just got my hands on an Nvidia 6800gt Apogee 256mb. After I install the hardware and try to boot my PC I get a blank screen and a Continous Loud BEEP... it doesnt stop beeping until I turn my pc off. I put my old card back in and my pc boots fine... I have a 500w power supply... so what could be the problem?

Something could be wrong with the card. i suggest you return and get a new one. If the problem presists call the card manufacter's tech support. Im sorry i could not be of more help but its very rare a computer will rejected a card.

I can't remember, but does the 6600GT require an extra power connector? I know the 6800GT did.

Yeah definately sounds like a duff card. Regarding the power cord, I think most cards (if not ALL) tell you on screen that you haven't connected the power cord, you don't just get a blank screen.
