Here are my thoughts on a new build, what are yours. I am looking for a good base system within which I can upgrade a little at a time.

Few suggested changes:

Since your only getting one video card, a SLi motherboard is somewhat pointless. Drop that to a regular Asus M2N-E board.
Gfx card: Spend the extra bucks and get a 7900GT. Defintely worth the bump in performance. However, if you overclock the 7900GS, you can get it very VERY close to GT speeds(so i have heard)
Would recommend another gig of ram, so you have 2, but if you price range is short, get it later if possible. Something along the lines with CAS4 latency. Good Luck
