Ok here is yet another newb question concerning the power supply connection.

I am purchasing MSI 975X Platinum Mobo and am looking for an adiquate power supply for my set up. According to the newegg link this Mobo has a 24 Pin connection for the PS. When i search for a PS that is ATX, 550w - 650w, and a 24Pin connection i get a very limmited return of like 2 power supplies.

My real question here is can i use a PS with a 20+4Pin connection or just the 24Pin that MSI calls for?

Ah hah! thanks alot, i ended up purchasing a modular 600w Silverstone. Now i know right....
And knowing is half the battle!
Thanks again for everyones knowledge.

In case you didn't know, the included motherboard utility programs are trash, don't bother installing them.

To check the CPU temperature download the program called Core Temp:

I have the MSI 975X Platinum and I am OC'ing my E6600 to 3.0GHz, but it is not 100% stable. Hopefully a slight increase in CPU and/or RAM voltage above the default settings will cure the issue.
