fan controller for cpu

i bought this fan controller and installed it.

Since my case fans are molex, i can only plug the cpu fan into it atm. It has brought my cpu temps down by 5-8C because it allows me to turn the fan up higher, something i couldn't do whenever it was plugged into the mboard.

The thing is everytime i boot i get an error and beeping saying it can't find the cpu fan, but allows me to continue by pressing F1.

Is there any way to change it so it doesnt warn me every time i boot?!?

My mboard is a ASUS A8n VM-CSM btw. thanks

you should have bought something that had a connection to the mb as well as molex.i've always had goodluck with thermaltake.my favorite was the volcano12 extreme.the only drawback i could see was i had to clean the heatsink every 3-4 weeks as it would start to clog up with dust.but ya next time you buy an aftermarket fan/heatsink,make sure it has a connection to the mb power as well.later.

Dahak, thanks for replying but i didn't get an aftermarket cooler, it is a 3.5" fan controller.

mpilchfamily, thanks for your help also. i understand your idea but i didnt need to take such 'drastic' measures. i spent some more time in bios and was able to change the settings so the mboard didnt monitor cpu fan speed and disabled another one which i think was called 'q-speed'

anyway, now when i boot there is no warning. thanks for your help.

1 more thing, is this what i am looking for to connect my molex case fans to my fan controller?

the three pin connector to 4 pin molex will look like the 3 pin connectors on the mb.glad we were able to help you.
