x2 3800+ Cool N' Quiet???

I cant find the Cool N' Quiet setting anywhere in my bios or computer. Is there a program I can use to find and change this setting.

what is your motherboard? and does it support for cool'n'quiet technology? you can check to the motherboard official site/manual or contact the technical support.

a x2 3800+ should have a c'n'q technology and cut it's clock speed down to 50% from their stock speed. (2ghz to 1ghz when it idles).

if your motherboard support the technology:
1. you have to install the c'n'q driver (download it from www.amd.com for your athlon x2 c'n'q driver)
2. then enable it via the power management setting in control panel (set it to the minimal power management to enable the c'n'q technology).
3. while no other heavy program's loaded, check if the c'n'q works via system in control panel. your cpu clock speed should be down to 1ghz.
