True, that's why I got the X1900GT.

CompUSA is in business to rip you off. They take advantage of the fact that the averege consumer knows next to nothing about computer hardware, and they have no clue about what they're supposed to be priced like.

Here's a nice ripoff from BestBuy: A64 X2 3800+: $430 This same CPU is $152 on newegg.

Then, of course, you gotta love the GF6200 "OC" for the low, low price of $156! I put OC in quotes because you can't do much to speed up a 6200  .

You can't forget the 512MB DDR433 for only $120.

Holy bejesus and I thought 99$ at Circut City for a 1GB stick of DDR2 was kinda high (it was Kingston HyperX so it might not have been toooo bad)
but 120$ for 512 megs ??? good lord !

Edit: The only reason I commented on this thread at all is I have been looking at ram... I want to get 2GB's at a decent price and it doesnt have to be uber fast. Dual channel on a 805D is easy to fill the bandwidth need.

FTW, that 7800GT is a dual-PCB, dual-GPU card. I remember seeing it on newegg a while back. It's kinda like the 7950's granddaddy; I've never seen a review of it. Also, that first 7800GTX is the 512MB version which debuted at $750, and never really got any cheaper. FTW, since the core/memory clocks are about the same, it performs about the same as a 7900GTX. The second GTX is at the same price it was when the 7800s first came out.

I know where you're coming from - the local Comp USA store is still pricing the 1900XTX at $600. But I shop there and have gotten some incredible deals. Got some DVD-Rs there last week for practically nothing. Got an OCZ power supply there on a great sale. Etc. Super dal on Belkin USPs last winter.

Yeah, I realized there were a couple exotics there...still represent rediclous price/performance though. That website pretty much still has launch prices listed for all those cards, no matter the age.
