I own one. I thought i could unlock at least 4 pipes. Even bought two of them... While i could completly unlock both cards, both had artifacts no matter what i did.

Someone shoot me now.

I´m too honest for that. I just sell it on ebay. It´s beyond me why someone would actually pay 70€ for such a piece of crap, but it´s what the card actually is traded for. I´m not quite sure what card i´ll buy to replace it, but i´m sure as hell making the switch to PCI-E.

6800XT has SM3.0 baby!!!!!! But For the same money you could have an Asus 512MB 6800. Who cares if it is a crippled 128-bit card and clocked like a slug....it has 512MB of VRAM and Sm3.0 baby!!!!!!!!! droolz

6800XT has SM3.0, and my X600 has SM2.0. I'm really diggin' that ASUS 6800, as that 512MB will provide a HUGE performance increase over the pathetic 256MB on my X600 :lol: . Let's just hope that teh 6800XT is the end of nV's crappo XT cards; I totally f*cking hate those things.

EDIT: ATI should kill their SE, LE, and GT cards. nV should kill thier SE, LE, and XT cards. I just love how ATI's high-end cards are XT, and nVidia's high-end cards are called GT. Maybe they do it on purpose to con uneducated consumers into buying their crappo, crippled cards.

Imagine if ATI made an X1900SE, or nV made a 7900XT :cry:

if you cant unlock it, then yeah it sucks. and the bus is 256 bit not 128.. i have it on AGP at 12 pipes and one extra shader and it was only $100 7 months ago.

Some 6800XTs have a 128-bit bus. 6800XTs on newegg The last one on that page is the one that you want; high clockspeeds AND the 256-bit memory bus. It's "only" $160.

I am sorry to dissapoint but my asus x6800 agp with 128bit bus and 512mb ddr2 memory, which was bought at a very sweet price, has been successfully
unlocked to 16pipelines and 6 vertex shaders, and overclocked as well. I have done all these @ bios. Dunno about you folks. But my card rocks. I play all games at full detail on a p4 3.2 with 1 gig ram and in some games I even put
antializing!! Great card!

Bad luck for those that couldn't unlock it though....

lol well no. I have a lcd 19' , so the higher I could go is 1280x1024. But I usually play @ 1024x768. Usually at full details except antializing. And in some games I do use antialising as well. for example counter-strike source. I play at 1280x1024 full details, 8x anisotropic filtering and 2x antialising with fps@60+.
In 3dmark05 I got 2856 3DMarks. So the card does pretty much what I want it to do.

I have ASUS 6600GT, it's perform better only in 3Dmark, in relal games ASUS 6800TD 128bit, 512DDR is better. In Tom's VGA Chart 1600 PRO and 850 GTO have less 3Dmarks 2006!?

I just increased the voltage of my 6800XT and could unlock another quad of Pipelines. Now it´s 12 Pipes and 6 Vertex Shaders. And that at 1,5 Volt (Formerly 1,4).
Before i did so, whenever i played oblivion the screen went black now and then. I thought it was a heat issue since i didn´t see any artifacts. But once i disabled the pipes i activated using the Rivatuner, the issues were gone. Now, with the higher voltage, that problem is gone. The other quad still produces artifacts (little red or blue dots flashing around on the screen). After i upped the volts a little, it seemed like there were less of them. Is that possible? And how far can i up the volts until i reach the "danger zone"? The nibitor tools mentioned something about the 6800XTs being a little touchy about higher volts. :?

So, shoot me later, help me first.

It's uber sad that my ti4200 4x is so much better than my fx5200 PCI.

fx5200pci cost me 120$
ti4200 cost me roughly 12$ with shipping.

OMFG THE TI FREAKING SMASHES IT WITHA HAMMER. I don't even think 3dmark would run with the 5200fx pci. Although my heart still goes out to those with the r7000 (((
