Using graduation money to buy a new pc, price range is 1k-1300, trying to keep it as low as possible without sacrificing performance, and would like it to last me four years minimum. Any thoughts or suggestiosn would be appreciated.

Questions from a noob, but why water cooling unless you are going to OC pretty hard. C2D can OC on air with a good case. With the extra $, go for the E6400 or more RAM.

Otherwise looks good. I will be building shortly and am going with the DFI mobo also. Not a great overclocker until they get a bios update, but good enough for me.

Agree with 2 of your points and disagree on one.

No point in water cooling unless you want to really overclock or want a "hey i am cooler than you" system.

No reason to get the 6400, the miminal speed increase isnt worth the cost.

Get 2GB of RAM for sure.
