Nvidia Graphics Problems

Built a new pc the other week.

Specs are

DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D Motherboard
AMD Opteron UP 144 San Diego 1.8GHz 1MB Cache/CPU
Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3200PT TwinX (2x1GB)/RAM
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB ST3320620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache/HardDrive
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music/Soundcard
BFG GeForce 7900 GS OC 256MB GDDR3/Graphics Card
Hiper HPU-4B580 Type R 580W Modular ATX2.2 PSU

System is working ok and i get good benchmark scores.
But i have some things that are concerning me.

1)Pixellated Videos when playing especially in full screen.
2)The Windows that appear are'nt the normal colour'but a grey/brown.I have'nt change the appearance of Windows myself and everything is at default.
3) The smaller text that shows up in the windows seems readable'but hard to make out. It's hard to describe'but very thin and not smooth and black text seems to have an almost greenish tinge to it.

I have used the drivers that came with the GC and also the latest one from the Nvidia downloads and it's still the same.I have also tested this on my old 17" CRT monitor and my new 19" TFT and identical results. Also it does'nt make a difference if using VGA or DVI Cable.

Can only assume a driver or bios issue.

Any ideas?

  1. Try putting the card to the factory recommend settings and see if that fixes it. If it does RMA the card for one that will work as promised.
