I have an Epson R800, which prints photographs superbly, and is OK on plain
paper color (non-photo) printing. I am very unimpressed with the quality of
DVD and CD printing, however. I'm using Legacy inkjet printable DVD-R (from
newegg) and TDK inkjet printable CD-R. Both print faded-looking
matt-finish, and the color runs when they are picked up with grubby hands.
Can anyone suggest an alternative that gives bright colors and a reasonable
waterproof finish?

Do you want to try this:

you can use their R800 continuous ink system with their ultrachrome
pigment ink.
It can solve your problem.
