Do I need an 8 pin EPS 12v connector?

The new Abit Mobo I want has an 8pin plug on the boatd. I just noticed that the Seasonic 380w PSU I was thinking of buying doesn't even come with a 8 pin EPS 12V connector. They don't give you one until you hit the 430 w model. What is it used for? Do I really need to use the 8 pin connector? I plan to install a C2D E6400.

nope, have a 4pin 12v conector plugged into my 8 pin connector, boots fine.
