I out my new system together today, specs listed below. On first boot, everything turned on for 10 seconds, although nothing came up on the monitor, then reset. After reset it would start the cycle over.

I have done a number things to try and figure out the problem, took all pieces off and tried rebooting one piece at a time, no change.

After pulling the Mobo battery I reset and it now stays on for 40 seconds before resetting. Nothing comes up on the monitor however.

I have heard no beeps, and there is no wierd lights on the d-bar.

What do you think the problem is?

A) Not big enough Power supply
B) Dead Mobo
C) Incompatible ram
D) DOA video card
E) Overheating CPU?

MSI 975X Platinum Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 975X ATX Intel
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 Conroe 2.13GHz LGA 775 Processor
MSI NX7900GT-VT2D256E-HD Geforce 7900GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI-X16
(2) OCZ S.O.E 512MB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Western Digital Raptor 150GB 10,000 RPM Serial ATA150
Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-500 ATX12V 500W Power Supply
Samsung Syncmaster 710n, VGA (using DVI to VGA adapter

Thanks for the help

Hi

Maybe you need to flash the bios for conroe support, have you got a old 775 socket cpu around?

Reply to _TOMO_

It cam preloaded with Bios Version 7.00, which should be Conroe ready (this is the PowerUp edition of the board)

I am pretty sure it has something to do with the RAM. I have OCZ S.O.E. PC6400 in there, and it is rated for 2.0 watts, I think this board only supports 1.8watt ram.

Can anyone out there confirm?

Did you plug in the additional 12v power molex to the motherboard and the video card? Above the PCI-e x16 slot should be the 12v molex receptor.

2.0v is supported. Go into the BIOS, in the "CELL Menu" will be options to adjust the RAM voltage. 2.0v should be there in yellow color.

I know people have been having problems with OCZ RAM in general, but I'm not sure if there are any problems with the 975X Platinum. I'm using Corsair XMS2 DDR 667 RAM in my mobo.

I have this exact same problem...what was your fix?

if you have bad ram, your mobo will not boot up and will not see anyone on the screen.
