When I type into the command prompt the following: DIR "C:\Users\Roy\My Documents" I do not get a listing of the My Documents directories and files. Instead the message displayed is "File not found". I would appreciate any help with this.

Do this:

DIR "C:\Users\Roy"

There is not a folder called" My Documents" there, it is REALLY called just "Documents". There is a little bit of Microsoft smoke and mirrors going on!

If you look at the properties of "My Documents", then click on the Location tab, you can see the folder name.
