My PC freezes when I load a CD (Intel Core2 E6400)

When I play on the PC and do anything it is really fast, but when I load a CD or install a game the PC freezes when it loads the disk. I just installed all the latest firmware and drivers and it still does it. Can anyone help?




Here are my specs:

What burning program are you using?Had an older version of nero that would do the same on my rig.Updated version,no problems.

Im not burning anything. Its when I installed a game and I had to swap CDs, that is when it freezes. It happened for Ghost Recon AW and WoW.

check CD drives jumper are set correctly. First make sure IDE Cables are connected all the way in from motherboard and cd drives, then Make sure Primary Drive Jumper is set to MASTER and Secondary Drive jumper is set to SLAVE.

Try loading and playing your game with one DIMM of RAM in slot one only. Run Memtest 86 and see if you are getting errors in regards to your RAM. RAM often causes the kind of software loading errors you are experiencing. HTH
