Got an iPAQ 3870 with a Linksys WPC11 version 3 wireless network card,
whilst I can network everything via Bluetooth, Internet Explorer won't
work via the Wi-Fi. Is this the norm or have I missed something really
obvious?
TIA

If you haven't done so, download VxUtil from (www.cam.com). This free
program will give you the tools needed to troubleshoot your network issues.
Once installed and running, make sure your wireless card is getting a valid
IP, dns and gateway from the access point. Anything starting with 169.x.x.x
means the device wasn't assigned an ip address and the reasons for that
range from bad encryption key entry in the device to an incompatability with
the AP. If you do get a valid IP address, use vxutil to ping sites like
yahoo.com, google.com, etc and see if you are getting anything back. I
would also get VxIP from (www.cam.com) which will allow you to manually
release/renew your ip as well as a few other things.

Thank you very much for your advice, I'm going to have to do some
research on all those networking terms. I'm not exactly a newbie to
computers, but I am to networking so please bear with me.
Thanks again

On the Config Utility the Ad Hoc channel is 7 on the Configuration
Tab, but on the Link Tab it is 11. The SSID is set to the name of my
network and the encryption key is the same. It just really niggles me
that everything else (Agile Messenger, MSN Messenger, Active Sync and
Pocket weather) works yet IE doesn't. But then again it would be
boring if everything worked smoothly ;)
