I'm assembling parts for my first build, an E6600 on a 975XBX. I can get 2GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 from Newegg for about $190 AR, or 2 GB of Crucial DDR2 533 for about $250. I'm aware of the recommendation of many to go with the slower speed to keep the RAM running in synch with the 1066 MHZ FSB, but the supposedly higher quality, faster RAM at a significantly lower price is attractive. Should I go for it...or look for less expensive DDR2 533 RAM.
Thanks

I would buy the PC6400. You can always run it at 533, and save $60 in the process. GL :)
