I've finally decided that my athlon xp rig just isn't cutting it anymore so i'm going to upgrade. I just wanted to see what you guys thought of what i had decided on and wether you think something else might be better.

Core 2 Duo e6600
Gigabyte 965P-DS3
Corsair TWIN2X 2048MB 240-PIN DDR2 XMS2-5400

for the video card i'm really not sure if i should get a good card now or wait for DX10 cards. any thoughts? i don't want it to be to expensive (around $300 CAD) if i'm going to be getting a DX10 card when they come out.
I was thinking something like a 7900GS for now and a DX10 card later or a X1900XTX now and forget DX10 later.

All the other parts are coming from my current system.

Current System:

Athlon XP 2700+ OC'd to 2.5GHz
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
1GB Kingston dual channel ram
BFG 6600GT OC
Seagate 320GB 7200.10 SATAII HDD
Pioneer DVD-RW
Enermax Liberty 500W PSU

total cost excluding the video card $842.00 CAD or $751.00 USD

Look at the X1900XT 256.. its around $240 USD. It will smoke at 7900GS. Forget the XTX.. its overpriced.

I'd say get a 7600GT and wait for DX 10
