Nikon Super Coolscan 4000 OS support

I have a Nikon Super Coolscan 4000 that I'm currently running is Vista 32-bit ( the last OS Nikon supported).
Does anyone know of/tried:
1. Third party soppurtfor Win 7 64-bit?
2. Linux OS support?
or
3. A good W7 supported slide scanner? Since Nikon bailed on supporting their products, I'm willing to consider other optioms.
