I had Cingular Extend displaying on my phone at home for about a month,
and the reception was perfect. This went dead suddenly, and now for
about a week I have no coverage at home at all. What could be wrong? My
neighbours with ATT don't have any problems.

Same phones? If not your neighbors may be picking up a TDMA signal,
while your GSM signal may have a problem.
