I use windows 7 but I also have linux's ubuntu OS on my storage unit. Rather than formatting the disk, is there anyway that I can uninstall ubuntu from within windows 7 (or uninstall it any way?)

Go to start>right click Computer>Manage> and go down to disk management. you should be able to access the partion from there, unless there was no partion, then I dont know what you would be talking about.
