Archived from groups: comp.periphs.printers (More info?)
I've been developing software for several years but I'm new developing
software for printers.
I'm planning to design an app that monitors the status of Zebra and
Linx printers. All the technical information that I've read, points
that I have to communicate with them by serial port and building the
messages at a very low state: Chr$(254), Chr$(46), ... Is there any
other way to do that? I mean if there are any dll that permits a higher
level protocol? StopPrinter(), ...
Under wich platform do you develop your software? VB6 or VC++6? .Net
???
