Its not only the Inq, its been stated months ago that DX10 cards by both manufacturers are going to consume like 300W

EDIT: You must be more up front.

You said quad core like you were gonna get 4 gpus... What you meant was kentsfield...

Anyway, we don't know how much power kentsfield will need, it may not need much, wait awhile, and then buy the psu...

You may only need something like a 600-700watt =-O

Kentsfield will be about 130W Load...

http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/09/10/four_cores_on_the_rampage/page3.html#power_consumption_core_2_duo_vs_quadro_vs_pentium_ee

Take a look yourself...

Either way, the trend for PC parts will be less wattage, because things are quickly becoming ridiculous. We might as all buy our own power generators for our computers, otherwise our whole house will start dimming... AMD was beating Intel not because they were much faster, but because of better power consumption and heat issues... you think that trend won't affect NVidia and ATI?

Don't worry about it, I'm going to stick with my 700W GameXStream and life will be fine.

First let the VPU come out, see if it's worth it and only then go get the PSU that will suit it.

I still remember when the 9800 Pro came out everybody was freaking out with the need for a 350W PDU but now everybody has a 400+ PSU, even most office computer.

Still, it look like this beast is gonna "kill" the G80, so I might very well get it. If it's a Prescott lookalike, then we'll all know what to do...

Still, I don't know how the R500 with 48 unified shader consume probably less than 100Watts (anybody has exact numbers) while the R600 with alegedly 64 shaders consume 250? I've heard it might have some very special hidden features, so it might be it. Anybody has a clue?

Yep..Thanxs for all of your help about PSU.Today i saw another link it will

chk this out

http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=34454

Do you even read? Posting this crap is a waste of everyones time.

"The simple fact is that three-slot cooling, would scupper Crossfire, and be completely incompatible with DAAMIT's Menage-a-Trois (codename for ATI Physics)." <-- From the article... saying they WON'T use 8 pin connectors.
