Crossfire and x1900XT question

I'm a bit confused on how crossfire actually works. Can I crossfire the x1900xt or do I need to buy the x1900xtx?

I'm assuming crossfire is like SLI you need 2 of the exact same video cards and one needs to be crossfire edition?

The reason I'm buying is because I want a new ssytem and I know DX10 is around the corner so I'm looking at a fairly inexpesive form of video upgrade to tide me over for a year. Correct me if I'm wrong I will need to drop $1000 CAN for the x1950xtx crossfire setup right?

i think u need x1900 CF edition + any x1900 card to have it works.

You can use your X1900XT for the crossfire set-up. The second card you will need is a X1900 Crossfire card. The X1900 Crossfire video card is about $350 American.

You will not use two X1900XT's to get the set-up running. Make sure you have a motherboard that is crossfire compatible.

Yeah. Unlike nVidia's SLI setup, a "Master Card" is required so you will need to buy an X1900XT Crossfire Edition.
