ok so i have a e-power EP-570MP psu. i was playing cs: source last night when all of the sudden my computer completely shut off. when i went to hit the power button i got nothing. the led light on the MB is still on. so i tired the psu on a different computer and nothing.

so i pretty much determined the psu went out but my question is how? anyone know how this could have happened?

Computer specs:
CPU: core 2 duo e6400
MB: intel DP965LT
RAM: 2GB OCZ gold 6400
GPU: radeon 1900xtx
OS: win xp pro

It's like any other power supply failure - the transformer could have failed, a cap could have toasted, you name it. If you were running it near it's peak power limit, high temperatures can result and at high temps, peak power decreases. It's a vicious circle. PS failure is one of the major causes of PC death.
