I just received my 6600GT from another rma. Everything seems fine, but when I play my game, the color(s) is messed up. More specifically, the ground which is supposed to be brown, is bright red orange. On top of that, if I raise my view past a certain point, the screen turns whitish. If I move it back down, it returns. I messed with all the settings in the game, but it's the same for low settings as well as high, with resolution too. The somewhat distant hills on the map didn't load as well (there are trees or whatever in the air).

Does anyone know what the problem is? Please don't tell me it's another defective card :( . If it is, I'll just chuck it against a wall since I'll be spending around half the card's value on rma shipping alone  .

Does this happen only when playing games?

Is the fan spinning on the video card?

Well normal computer use (videos, internet, and the like) look fine. I only have one game right now, apart from a very demanding beta game, in which I use low settings. The beta game's colors are fine. The game in which the color is messed up and the other problems I mentioned, works fine with my geforce2. And yes, the fan is spinning.

I would try reinstalling the latest drivers from Nvidia and checking the site of the game's manufacturer for patches or documents relating to poor performance with their game.

Make sure you COMPLETELY uninstall all old drivers before installing new ones. Once you've uninstalled all old drivers, you might want to use something like Driver Cleaner just to make sure you got everything.

I uninstalled everything and used Driver Cleaner, but the same thing still happened. I uninstalled everything again, but this time I used omega drivers (Forceware 66.93). Now everything works perfectly  . I can finally use my card after months, thanks!
