That plane got sorted out, thanks for your help.

She hasn't been flown yet. First flight will be on Monday. It turns out there is a lot more to the little fcukers than you'd at first expect. Tricky to build for a first timer too. Once again, thanks.

Tom.

RC Pilot is a top gun at building and flying planes !!!

and picking locks with his fingers.

Reply to mrface

No problem.... Anytime Man!!!!!

They do take some tinkering to get going....

Let me know how she flies.... I'll be waiting to hear how it went!!!

Reply to RCPilot

Yes they are tricky, the instructions were all wrong. Even I, a first time builder could see the engine, if mounted according to instructions, would make her a bit nose heavy and difficult to land easily.

Reply to Tom_Smart

The lock picking is my domain!

Reply to Tom_Smart

A nose heavy plane is easier to fly than a tail heavy plane...... Tail heavy & they will stall on you a whole bunch.... Real tricky to fly......

I'd go with the recommended CG & maybe a 1/4" forward for a beginner..... Last thing you want to do is have it get slow enough to stall & with the CG a Tad forward it's a lot easier to keep up the air speed.... The CG is always pulling it in level flight that way..... Just a tad bit of pressure on the elevator will keep it flying level & a stall won't be as apt to happen..... Use the trim adjustment to keep the pressure on the elevator constant....

Reply to RCPilot

yes but youre fingers cant be as nimble as his.

Reply to mrface

Good vid.!!! He sure can fly I'm telling you!!!!

Reply to RCPilot

Cute plane kid.

Here's mine. When I'm done shoveling the driveway and I've finished this case of
Stella, I'm going up for a spin.

Can you fly that up my arse please? Full afterburners if possible.

Reply to WingDing

With full afterburners I wouldn't be able to back it in for that extra feeling you're after.

Reply to KingLoftusXII

Are you seriously still shoveling? No way...

If what I know about helicopters is correct then the hardest part of those tricks would be recovering, right?

Reply to dasickninja

She flew fine. Take off was no problem, Ian had somebody else land her though. I can see a pulse jet version once this thing is mastered.

Reply to Tom_Smart

Eye hand coordination.... That & he's moving both sticks in 360 deg. rotations to do it..... Nintendo hands!!!!

Reply to RCPilot

Way Cool Man!!!!! :trophy: :trophy: :trophy:

No she's all coated in Glo Fuel!!!! Hanger queen, she isn't!!!!

Then maybe I can get into Helios..

Reply to dasickninja

Just captured some sim stuff for her.

Reply to Tom_Smart

That is a cool vid. I still haven't gotten my helicopter off of the ground yet. Haven't had a lot of time for it but I have been practicing with the simulator.

An RC. I bought that cheap little electric one that Tom's reviewed a couple months back.

Reply to Anoobis

I think arming with rockets would be a better idea.

Reply to Tom_Smart

Great!!!! It might help some..... I've never played around with a sim though.... I just beat up a couple of dozen planes learning.......

I understand that, people your age often have difficulty operating a VCR.

Reply to Tom_Smart

At his age he has trouble controlling his bladder.

Reply to llama_man

At his age his bladder has more brain cells than his brain.

Reply to WingDing

Your brains would have to be in your bladder if you were to adore Coors as he does.

Reply to Tom_Smart

And most of them would end up in the urinal, which is a deserving resting place for Coors.

Reply to WingDing

Even a urinal doesn't deserve that fate..

Reply to lvdax

Unless you're trying to descale it.

I think you left a condom on the floor in the background. Looks Wingy sized...

Badass helicopter video btw, and I really want to do RC helicopter/plane flying but can't afford it. maybe Ninja will smash a helicopter and send it to me so I can fix it.

Reply to tool_462

Hey man, while their stuff probably isn't up to par of what RC's accustomed to, Hobby-Lobby has some rather inexpensive beginner kits (planes and helios) to start with.

They're selling the RTR Honey Bee Mark 3 for $120. Toss in the extra battery for $30 if you want to and you're set.

Yeah some of those are pretty affordable. Hopefully durable too, I probably will hit something a few times.

I used to do "The Wright Stuff" for National Science Olympiad back in the day, a friend and myself actually went to nationals twice, got 7th once but our plane was good enough for first, but nationals were in Colorado Springs so the thinner air didn't let it climb as fast as usual so we didn't have the glide time like we did at home.

Pretty insane stuff, rubber band powered balsa planes flying 10+ minutes on a single wind. There is a guy that helped us, and let us fly in the Metrodome and Xcel Energy Center (name is Bill Kuhl I think) that has planes that dont fit the specs for Science Olympiad that can fly over an hour with only a rubber band powering it.

Reply to tool_462

I'll tell you, electric planes are the thing now..... The batteries have so much power & are super light..... I like to show new people to the sport theseplanes..... Cheap, extremely light weight & they'll do any maneuver your skills will allow..... You just had toss them, so that avoids half the crashes!!!!! I've seen these planes flow in a hotel pool & outdoors.....

Reply to RCPilot

Your right..... I fly a tad more expensive planes.... They're called "Glass Slippers"....... Cutting edge carbon fiber, molded wings..... Here's a selection of some of them..... Here'sthe top plane that I currently have in the hanger......

Reply to RCPilot

What, no collective bastage?

Reply to WingDing

I know..... I've been pretty stingy with them lately..... [shrug]

Reply to RCPilot

Can I at least petition for a blink?

Reply to WingDing

I'm hoping for another original. After the *bastoid* and *fuwoop* I'm getting greedy.
