My Plextor DVD Combo read everything OK, except the DVD PAL. When inserting a DVD, it starts blinking -never stops.
During this blinking, the there is a clepsidre showing. I can not close the explorer- message is: system busy.
Interface is IDE set to master.
10 GB free on HDD, 512 MB RAM, Pentium 4 1.3
The DVD runs ok in other readers.
Frimware is V1.03 (the latest).
I do not know what to do.

Possible your Plextor has seen better days. You could swap it out of the machine for the unit that works with your software. You might try swapping out the IDE cable for a new one. You might run memtest86 and check your RAM for error or even adding to the 512 you have might work. HTH
