If you want to make a share on a pc that is accessible via appletalk I think you will need a windows server os. I'm not sure that the desktop os's allow you to make a mac share.
On the server os you would add the appletalk protocol to the nic then create a share in the system manager (rightclick on mycomputer>manage) and check a box making it an apple share during the share creation wizard.

Between hundreds of computer replacements and viruses at work, full time college, and new video games I havent had much time to dedicate to the forums ;) I'm goona try to post more now that things have cooled down a bit, lol.

wow appletalk where have you guys been. I dont know what apple os you have but osx use's tcp/ip just as windows does. just toss out the whole note and mind set of apple talk dont ask apple for support on it they might think you have a rock running there os at your network. Anyways get osx if you dont have it join it to the windows workgroup or domain and click on go and type in the network computer name and share.

Lots of support at http://www.apple.com apple works on any windows or llunix unix network No problem.

Unfortunatly my place of work is cursed with over 100 iMacs and G3 towers (233mhz imacs, 333mhz g3 towers, both w/ 64mb of ram and 4-6gb hds). I dont think they could physically run anything higher than 9.1, most have 8.6. It is painful but they still work so the administration wont replace them :(
OSX is definatly far superior to os 9.1 or 8.6 but nothing around me is going to run it. We already have an active directory domain setup with hundreds of PCs so they should be replaced with PCs anyway. Oh, can I dream... lol
