GPU cooling mod

I have an extra 80mm fan and was wondering if i mod the side of my case to accept the fan right by my GPU (7900gt) to blow cooler air right on it do you think it will really make a difference? or is it not even worth it?
anyone ever done this?

Sometimes it can actually make your case hotter.. my ANTEC SOHO had a side panel w/ fan and i guess it messed with the air flow making the ambient case temperature higher (which made my CPU run about 4 degrees celsius higher..) i would just mod it in front of your video card w/ a PCI slot fan under it..
