Using Windows XP Home SP2.
I have VPN successfully open using TheGreenBow IPSec VPN Client software between Home PC behing Netgear router FVS318v1 on cable ISP and client terminal dialing into the internet through AOL.
Client PC can ping all devices on the LAN (3 PC, Network Printer, router & Wireless Access Point) but for the Buffalo LinkStation 120MB which will not respond; the link/act light can be seen flicking but no ping returns.
For testing investigation I have temporarelly turned off Windows Firewall, but no difference.
The purpose of the VPN was to have remote access to the Buffalo Link Station and its files.
Can any one help?

Because the buffalo device is used for VPN and a potential back door, it's blocking WAN requests so people can't find it.

Enable that and you should be able to ping it.. it might not be called WAN Requests though, they may use different terminology to describe that.
