Hi anybody know why my x800xl will install to the point where i install the catalist then say that there isnt a ati driver found.
I can carry on and get a display then when i reboot get no signal displayed and monitor goes to power saving

Looks like you are not doing a clean install of your drivers.

1. You need to uninstall everything related to ATI from Control Panel (if you had a GeForce card before this one you need to uninstall all software for this card and its drivers as well);

2. Download driver cleaner utilities for whatever drivers you've had in the past and run them. They should remove all relevant registry entries which may be left over after uninstallation through the Control Panel.

3. If the above 2 steps leave folders related to your old drivers on your hard drive, delete them.

Restart your PC and do a manual install of your new drivers. What this means is that if Windows tells you that it found new hardware on reboot, do not let it install anything. Cancel the "Found new hardware" wizard.

Then run driver/software installation.
