I would like to upgrade from win98SE to WIN2k, but I want to start fresh by reformatting my HD. Can I do a full install with the upgrade disk or do I need to spend for the full edition price even though I own a licensed copy of Win98se?

you can upgrade from 98se to win2k pro, but not server. should be fine to just choose upgrade option but i would recommend a clean install.

ignore everything i say

If you buy the upgrade win2kpro, and you have a clean partition, the installation routine will ask for the original win98/95 cdrom just for a disk-check. Then it goes right about installing.
