You may need to install a driver for lightscribe to work.

Check the help files on the program you are attempting to burn the label with, they usually have a link to any additional software you need to install to assist with lightscribe.

Odd. My Lite-On drive said it was Lightscribe on the box, but only my Samsung was able to burn labels. I haven't looked for a replacement, I've got one drive that burns labels just fine. RMA it and get a Samsung, or look for a driver.

1.to burn lightscribe your drive must support it.
2.to burn lightscribe you need media lightscribe capable.
3.usually the drivers that support lightsribe comes with
some kind of software that let you burn the label.
if are these exists in your case,
then unfortunaly its hardware problem.
but first be sure that aall the aboves are right.
