Yes ... I tried it out in my local MacDonalds.
Worked fine ... cannot recall the exact process but I seem to recall it
being fairly easy with the normal retail wifi requirement of opening IE
to pay for connection time.

I to have used it at MacDonald's, simply started up WiFi, watched for a connection, then opened up PIE and went to address www.btopenzone.com once the page loaded I simply entered my username and password, once entered I had full web access and email upload and download etc. The thing to watch is that sometimes they have a couple of access points one for customers and one for the outside ordering that they sometimes do, thus if you hit the wrong one you get no connection. That said if your not in a MacD's then that isn't an issue
