E6300 and 533 MHz memory, did I screw up?

So, I got this E6300 and this twinmos PC4200 memory (I read somewhere that 1:1 is nice to have for memory bandwidth performance). Before I read the OC-articles. So, is there any way to set the timings for the memory so I can still OC the processor, but keep the memory at 533 MHz? I have a asus nvidia 570 board, and I'm not sure at all how to set it to do that or if its even possible..?

You aren't going to get a very impressive overclock I'm afraid - neither that RAM or that mobo are particuarly good at overclocking. Follow the standard overclocking guides, but understand you just aren't going to get very far.

i think your confused. set the timings so you can overclock the cpu but keep the memory at 533MHz? that doesnt make sense tbh.

since intel cpu's are locked, you cannot change the multiplier... the only way to overclock is to increase the fsb. the fsb increases w/ the memory speeds... and since you bought 533MHz ram, you wont get a great overclock out of it.

Couldnt the OP set the CPU:FSB ratio to 5:4 (Is that right?) then just adjust the FSB back to 533 and get an OC with the ram running at stock speed? Or is my thinking flawed?
