cartridge flush liquid

Does anyone know what the cartridge flush liquid consists of - it looks like
metholated spirits (and smells like it) - so I assume that it has some
spirit/alcohol base to it.

It is sold separately but not through the retail high street retail outlets
in the UK as far as I am aware. PC World and Tescos include a small bottle
of cartridge flush in refilling kits but I'm running out. Would anything
else do instead?

7 Day Shop dot com sell cleaning cartridges and fluid. I have never used
them, so do not know how effective they are.

Arthur Entlich, who posts on this NG can supply instructions on cleaning
Print Heads and recipies for cleaning fluid.
