Nothing is wrong with a PIII server. And I will say that the OS/2 is quite robust (for what we need it for). Very little support needed, other than weekly reboots of the whole kit & caboodle...
The reason I said "server" is that it is just standard desktop hardware. We use it for the software routing portion of OS/2 that Windows doesn't have.
I've got a Dell poweredge 2300 dual-PIII running as ICS, file server and general crap (it's network name is 'General Sh[b][/b]it Box'), and it's been going for so long without needing interference I've forgotten what OS I've got on it.
Some version of Linux. A heavily hacked one.
It also has two LAN cables going in, a third cable from the router, and a power cable.
