I am wondering if its possible to setup Crossfire on the Intel 5000X motherboards.

I have done some searches and have come up with that it is possible to have Nvidia SLI with quadro cards but I couldn't find if its possible with the desktop cards or crossfire.

I am unsure what motherboard to get, I was Thinking of the X7DA8 from SuperMicro, but I'm fairly sure that crossfire will not be possible with this board because the PCI-E is setup in 16x & 4x if in dual configuration. But I have seen Tyan Boards that support dual 8x slots, wich seems like it is possible to support x-fire or sli, but they have less features that I would like to have.

I know this issue is more dependant on drivers, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried?

So my question is if its possible to support desktop multi-gpu setups in these types of motherboards?
