I've basically had this problem for my dsl since I got it. What is also bad is that my Warcraft 3 multiplayer is crazy because I constantly get dropped without warning. It feels like the dsl is constant except for random spurts of no connection. I havent been able to really test it (dont know how).
Anyways about 95% of my game patches have been corrupt on download including RTW 1.5. I have tried multiple times and several sites. Then out of the blue a patch will download successfully.
An example of a error on installing a patch:
Extracting to "Cocuments and SettingsColtLocal SettingsTempwzda92"
Use Path: yes Overlay Files: yes
Extracting rome_total_war_patch_1-5.exe
CRC check failed
I did perform a tracert on Battle.net to give people some information, but I dont know if it will help you any.

What about doing a ping -t to google? do you get constant spikes/drops?
Is your network cable or phone cable (for dsl modem) going past any high interference devices? (anything w/ a large electric motor, microwave, power lines, etc)
Plug a phone without a dsl filter onto the line going to the dsl modem. Can you hear any static, crackles, etc?
