When properly setup, the later versions of IE can be pretty secure. It just a bit more work to securely setup IE than it is to securely setup Firefox.

I haven't gotten around to it, but I plan on messing around with Opera and I have very limited experience with Avast. Avast actually runs off of IE IIRC but it has a bit more intuitive interface to setup. I believe it also has a smaller resource footprint than Firefox.

I've used Firerfox for about a year now. A couple of months ago, I tried using Opera, but I couldn't get used to the keyboard/mouse shortcuts. I find that the beauty of Firefox is its simplicity; all the shortcuts are very logical and easy to remember. Plus, Firefox has Adblock, which is only the best extension ever.

Even if you know what you're doing, it's very easy to screw stuff up. I've used firefox and began to question why I'm still using IE.

I corrected it
