So i'm takeing the hsf of 1 to fix the other, the only problem is I cant get 1 of the hsfs off. its a realy old nvidia tnt2 64 mb card so i'm gessing that the heat sink has been there just freekin melding to it. so i'm asking how do I get this thing off?

Soak both cards in gasoline and light them on fire.

Seriously, try spraying a little rubbing alcohol underneath the GPU HSU. Let it sit for awhile and see if it dissolves the thermal pad enough for you to remove the fan. You might want to try it a few times before attempting removal.

That's nice.

OP - I can't imagine a Riva TNT2 producing enough heat to 'meld' itself to the heatsink. Use the alcohol suggestion Anoobis provided, it's likely just the old heatpad/thermal goo sticking it together.

I just got the thermal pad off the heat sink, what a pain in the a$$. This thing was like freekin rubber glue! The other card (asus) was alot easer, it just had thermal paste.
