Sorry folks - this a bit specialist but I know there are a few UK gear freaks on here..
I have a pair of c.1978 Tannoy Devon monitors. They come with the classic 12'' HPD-315A Dual concentric drivers. The speakers are in full working order and sound fantastic. They are fully original apart from upgraded binding posts.
Cabs have a couple of marks and small chips on corners but are totally sound and solid. The driver cones and motors are both fine but the cone surround does need replacing at some point. Tannoy will still service and repair and last time I checked a full re-cone of both tweater and woofer with new surround would be in the £250 mark for the pair, however spares can be had for DIY fix from SpeakerBitz. The drivers are crying out for some nice cabs and a bit of TLC. They sound simply stunning and image better than many compact monitors.
If I had the space to store them I'd hold on to them but I don't. They are not a shippable item so any buyer would have to collect from South Manchester. I'm moving in two weeks and I need to move them.
Make me an offer... Or tell me how you would use them if you want to appeal to my charitable side.... Somebody is going to end up with a noise abatement order
