I am geetting a new power supply for my computer because the old one broke and i dont want the same modle. the specs are:

CPU: AMD 64 3200+ (skt 939)
RAM: 2x512 generic ram
MoBo: DFI SLI-DR
HDD: 160 GB, gonna buy a second one soon.
GPU: 6600GT, but gonna buy 2x7600 GT's soon

i looked at the hiper psu's and they seems quite appealing i was wondering if it was worth spending that little extra on a modular design and how much power would i need to run this system, i looked at the 580w and 530w but really dont have any idea how many W's i need.

and also my budget is about £55 thats bout $105.

thanks very much, i used the link and found it very interesting. Also thanks for pointing out the stickies, me should have seen them. i thinks i.m gonna buy the 580W true power one because it's cheaper than the 530 modular one and i dont think i need a modular power supply, at least for a few years

there is no way your set up will use over 300 w, so why buy a 580 w power supply, but a quiet and high EFFICIENCY power supply will save your money on the long run,
seasonic s12-430 is about $90. it is better than hiper for sure, you can try brand such as enermax, silverstone, or enhance.

not true, 7600gt use less than 60w, even sli still less than 120w, add 300w, so peak out is 400w, why 580w? I have two points.
1.buy a better brand psu
2. 580w is waster money for his set up.

sli require one of 12v can support heavy current, seasonic s12 12v is pretty strong, so i think s12-430 will be a very good choice, even for future upgrade.

If you can afford it, go for the Antec NeoHE over the Truepower. The 550w is SLI-certified, and you will find it is quieter than any other fan-cooled PSU on the market except for the Seasonic S12. Even then it comes close.
