Cannot change screen saver time

Hello,
I cannot change the time before my screen saver starts. Every time I set the waiting time at 3 min instead of 1, I press apply, I press ok (or any combination of the two), but then the screen saver still starts after 1 min.
What can I do? I have Windows 7 starter.

Is you computer a standalone or is it connected to a corporate network domain?

If you're on a corporate network the domains group policies will override any settings changes you make.
