I have seen these things on newegg, what are they? Its not a dual gpu card is it?

The 7950GT is just a higher clocked 7900GT, with 512MB of ram, and core clock higher.

And it's not much to get excited about, when you can get a 512MB X1900XT for $280, and a 256MB X1900XT for $235, both of which compete with teh 7900GTX.

Its a middle card between the 7900GT and the 7900GTX made to fill a price range. Definetly not a dual GPU card.
The X1900XT 512 compits really well (mostly winning) with a 7900GTX, meaning that if youve got the $300 for a VGA card get the X1900XT 512mb.

Hell, I'm sure that even the 256MB X1900XT compares favorably with the 7900GTX. It might not be faster, but it's close enough, and the price difference is tempting.

From what I've seen, ATI has been much more competetive with pricing their products than nV has. There are some okay deals to be had on 7900GTs, but a 7900GT gets owned by an X1900XT.
